Notice that, by default, the value for the Category query parameter is Bikes, and the value for the Subcategory parameter is Road Bikes. Click the Properties tab. Notice that there is an area named Report Definition, which includes two links: Edit and Update. Clicking the Edit link will allow you to get the RDL file. This is possible because this is a base report. Click the Create Linked Report button. Type my sales report as the report name, and then type the following description: a linked report that i can use to view my sales. Notice that the label contains the location information. Click OK, and notice that the header for the report now reads My Sales Report 2008, so you know that you are looking at the linked report rather than the base report. Click the Properties tab. Notice that in the Report Definition area, there are no links for editing or updating the RDL; instead, there is now a button that will allow you to change the link to the base report. In the list of links on the left, click Parameters. Change the default value of the ProductCategory parameter to 4, and then clear the Prompt User check box. Change the default value of the ProductSubCategory parameter to 31, and then clear the Prompt User check box. Click Apply. Click the View tab. Notice that the parameters ProductCategory and ProductSubCategory are not visible. Also notice that immediately below the Adventure Works Cycles logo in the report, the sales for Accessories (Helmets) are displayed.
